Plastic particles in the environment is becoming a serious issue for man kind. Plastic pegs are not suitable to be used under high UV exposure (I.e. in the garden). Wooden pegs (already available/viable) when coupled with a steel spring are completely biodegradable. Plastic pegs should be banned

Many of us will have experienced a plastic peg crumbling as you attempt to release it from the line. This brittleness is usually due to UV degradation, weakening the plastic. The broken peg then enters the environment where its likely to remain for many 100s of years, further degrading into microplastics.
