Increase financial support for UK zoos this winter (September until Easter)

UK zoos, aquariums, wildlife parks and animal sanctuaries are under threat of closure. They need confirmation they will be financially supported, if necessary, until Easter 2021 (when, hopefully, they can return to a normal busy season). We have already lost one zoo (Living Coasts) due to COVID.

Firstly, thank you to the Government for increasing the funding available to zoos from £14m to £100m, it is very welcome. But the limits on claims by individual zoos, and total amount of money available, is not sufficient. These restrictions could see zoos close.

The Government should increase financial support for UK zoos, and remove restrictions on claims by individual zoos.
