With the cost of living soaring, we propose scrapping HS2 Phase 1 using the money saved to subsidise energy costs. The obscene devastation that has already been done to the countryside can be left to return to the wild and help the species that are facing extinction.

It is the sensible thing to do. Concentrate on HS2 Phase 2 to help those in the North with infrastructure there where it is needed.
