The UK and New Zealand are close partners, and we appreciate the joint working and support between our two governments. The British High Commissioner in Nuku'alofa (Tonga) is working closely with her New Zealand counterpart, and the British High Commission in Wellington is also in regular contact with the New Zealand Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). In addition, officials from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in London have discussed the recent tsunami in Tonga with the New Zealand Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).
