The Cased Telescopic Cannon is a joint project with the French Directorate of General Armaments so development and qualification costs have been shared. A total of €333 million and £31.4 million has been spent by the UK Ministry Of Defence to develop and qualify the cannon, four different 40mm ammunition types and to procure 515 cased telescopic cannons. All 515 cannons have been delivered on budget and ahead of schedule, together with technical publications and an initial quantity of spares.

The Ajax programme is due to deliver 245 turreted variants making up 41% of the overall Ajax fleet. Every turreted variant will be fitted with the Build Standard 8 Cased Telescopic Cannon System.
