Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what his Department's timetable is for the introduction of a new farm policy.
The Queen’s Speech announced that an Agriculture Bill would be introduced during this session of Parliament. The Bill will allow us to deliver our manifesto commitment to provide stability to farmers as we leave the EU, supporting the industry to compete domestically and on the global market, and will allow us to grow more, sell more and export more great British food.
We are working with industry and other interested parties to discuss the shape of future policy but we have also been clear that there will be a transition from one system to the next.
