Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many penalty charges have been issued in respect of wrongly claiming NHS prescriptions in each of the last 36 months; and what proportion of those fined were in receipt of universal credit.

The table below shows the number of penalty charge notices (PCNs) issued over the past 36 months. It is not possible to show what proportion of those penalty charges notices were issued to people in receipt of Universal Credit as this data is not held.
