Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps his Department has taken in helping to improve women’s mental health in ensuring that the different experiences of women are considered in policy making.
We launched a 12-week public call for evidence on longer term measures to support mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention, which closed on 7 July 2022. We are currently analysing the over 5,000 submissions received from a range of stakeholders in England, including women’s organisations. We have also appointed a Women’s Health Ambassador for England to raise the profile of women’s health, increase awareness and work with stakeholders, including women and girls from under-served groups, to implement the Women’s Health Strategy.
