Figures on the numbers of victims of domestic violence who have acted as litigants in person are not currently held by the government.

Since 2015, we have invested £5million of funding to support the Litigants in Person Support Strategy to increase support to unrepresented parties in the family justice system. This provides practical support and information as well as providing routes to free or more affordable legal advice services. The Lord Chancellor recently announced the initiation of the post-implementation review of the legal aid changes made by, and following, the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012.
