Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, when her Department plans to publish the draft bill on domestic violence and abuse.
We are committed to consulting widely as we develop the proposals for the Bill. We are keen to hear from experts, including charities and service providers, and parliamentarians to understand their views and ensure that the voices of domestic abuse victims and survivors are heard. This will take place in the new year and will involve consultation events.
As announced in the Queen’s speech, we will publish a draft Bill later this session, once we have thoroughly consulted with partners and analysed responses.
