The Royal Navy uses the ice classification process embedded in the ship design rules of the Classification Society.

We do not discuss the detail of the extreme weather conditions to which individual Royal Navy units can operate as this would or would be likely to prejudice the capability, effectiveness or security of the Armed Forces.
