Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment his Department has made of the effect on the provision of mental health services in Portsmouth of the fall in the real terms income of Solent NHS Trust between 2011-12 and 2016-17.

NHS England advises that it monitors all clinical commissioning groups’ (CCG) compliance with the Mental Health Investment Standard (MHIS). The MHIS requires that each CCG’s level of investment in mental health services is at least in line with the level of overall funding growth they have received.

For 2015/16 and 2016/17 NHS England can confirm that the CCGs in the Portsmouth and South East Hampshire system have met this requirement.
