Question to the Department for Business and Trade:
To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, what estimate she has made of the effect of the British Industry Supercharger on industrial electricity prices compared to other countries.
The Supercharger will introduce targeted measures to ensure the energy costs for key UK industries are in line with other major economies around the world – levelling the playing field for British companies across Europe.
Analysis shows that the Supercharger proposals, when fully implemented, will reduce average electricity prices for UK Energy Intensive Industries by £24 to £31/MWh, having a direct impact on their competitiveness and reducing global carbon emissions.
