The Government believes the proposed single duty rate for wine strikes an appropriate balance between the current duty rates on still, sparkling and fortified wine. Further detail about the impact of alcohol duty reforms on revenue, businesses and public health will be included in a tax information and impact note when the policy is final, or near final, in the usual way.
