Police: Mobile Phones

Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what comparative assessment her Department has made of the ethnicity of individuals who have had data extracted from their mobile phones by the police compared with the ethnicity of the general population.

The Home Office has not made any such assessments. The police are operationally independent of the Home Office and operational guidance is a matter for them. Furthermore, the department does not hold this information on ethnicity.
