The FCDO provides humanitarian assistance in Mozambique. This includes working closely with local and international partners, and the Government of Mozambique to support efforts in disaster planning and response e.g. by providing emergency assistance for those displaced, and by funding partners to pre-position emergency shelter and non-food items. Tropical Storm Cheneso affected nearly 32,000 households, with a loss of electricity, and localised flooding. The Government of Mozambique has a disaster response plan which they partly fund. However, they may request support from international donors for larger disasters which they have not yet done for Storm Cheneso.
