’Special protection measures’ are here taken to refer to ‘special measures’ as defined in the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999.

The Ministry of Justice does not hold the data centrally on the proportion of cases involving domestic abuse in the criminal courts where special measures were implemented.

The information requested could only be obtained at disproportionate cost by examining individual case records.
