The Tier 2 (General) minimum salary thresholds for overseas doctors were set following consultation with the independent Migration Advisory Committee and are based on pay scales published by the NHS – and have remained at their current levels since April 2017.

We continue to monitor the operation of this route ensure that it strikes the right balance between supporting businesses accessing talent from overseas and our commitment to reducing net migration and protecting jobs for British workers.
