While the Government does not have any plans to extend the Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) relief to commercial property, it has provided businesses with a wide package of support during the coronavirus pandemic, such as the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme and the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme, as well as targeted support for small businesses, and the hospitality and leisure sector. All tax policy, including SDLT, is kept under review and the views the Government receives are an important part of that process.
