Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what estimate he has made of the cost to the public purse of advertising careers in the childcare and early education sector in each of the last three years.

There has been advertising expenditure in relation to promoting the Early Years Initial Teacher Training route. Expenditure in the last three years, was as follows:

• 2016-17: £36,000
• 2015-16: £78,500
• 2014-15: £53,616
