Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what (a) data and (b) criteria he uses to decide which countries are included on the red list travel ban; and if he will make a statement.

The decision includes countries on the ‘red list’ is informed by the latest scientific data and public health advice from a world-leading range of experts. Data includes evidence of variants of concern, epidemiology, imported cases and traveller volumes. The list of red list countries is kept under review.
