Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what assessment she has made of the potential merits of withholding (a) housing benefit and (b) the housing component of Universal Credit from landlords who fail to make repair works requested by tenants.

No assessment has been made on the merits of withholding Housing Benefit or Housing Element (UC) to Landlords who fail to make repair works requested by Tenants.

We continue to work closely with landlords, local authorities, housing associations and other organisations.
