The Home Office takes its obligations under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act seriously. The department receives one of the highest volumes of FOI requests across central government. In 2022 we responded to 92% of FOI requests within the permitted time and to 93% in the first quarter of 2023.

Official National Statistics on FOI performance for all central government departments and other monitored bodies can be found on www.gov.uk at https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/government-foi-statistics.

The Department continually monitors and looks for ways to improve its FOI performance.
