Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, how much of the additional £375 million of funding allocated to the HMRC to prepare for the UK leaving the EU will be spent on new technology and IT requirements for customs and borders.

The amount of funding that will be spent on new technology and IT requirements for customs and borders in 2019/20 is dependent upon the final scenario under which the UK leaves the EU. HMRC will continue to work with HM Treasury on its exact spending plans as these are confirmed.
