Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, how many and what proportion of children’s homes run by (a) local authorities, (b) voluntary organisations and (c) private sector institutions are rated (i) requires improvement and (ii) inadequate; and how many children are in those homes.

This is a matter for Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector, Amanda Spielman. I have asked her to write to the hon. Member for South Shields and a copy of her reply will be placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
