Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many people aged (a) under and (b) over 18 were diagnosed with asthma in each of the last five years.
This information is not collected centrally.
However, the following table shows the number of people recorded on a general practice register as part of the quality and outcomes framework (QOF), with a diagnosis of asthma for all ages for England. The data from the QOF are collected by general practice and not by geographical location and are not broken down by age.
