Ministry of Defence planning for General Purpose training in the UK was conducted in consultation with the Cabinet Office, Home Office, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the Libyan Defence Section of the Libyan Embassy in London, local community leaders in Cambridgeshire, Cambridgeshire Police and the Ministry of Defence Police. In Libya, the MOD liaised with the Libyan Government through the FCO, the UK Defence Attache and the Defence Advisory and Training Team in Tripoli. The MOD has also worked closely with international partners including the United States and Italy, and also military representatives from Libya, to develop a common set of standards for General Purpose Force training.
