Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what steps the NHS takes to encourage people receiving long-term treatment for a mental illness to continue to receive such treatment.
The Government’s 2014-15 Mandate set an objective for NHS England to ensure “everyone who needs it has timely access to evidence-based mental health services.”
People receiving long-term treatment for mental illness will have a care plan and regular reviews through the Care Programme Approach (CPA). As part of CPA they will work with a care coordinator to ensure that their care and support continues to meet their needs.
