Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, on how many occasions (a) Serco and (b) G4S have tendered for contracts let by her Department in each year since May 2010.

Both Serco and G4S have operated contracts issued by the Home Office under different governments for more than a decade.

The number of contracts that Serco have tendered for and has been let by the Secretary of State for the Home Department since May 2010 is 5.

For the purposes of this question we have used the date that the tender process commenced as the relevant date.

The number of contracts that G4S have tendered for and has been let by the Secretary of State for the Home Department since May 2010 is 9.
