The British Government contributed £40.5m in the financial year 2017-18 to the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission (MINUSCA) in the Central African Republic (CAR) as part of its overall 5.78 per cent annual contribution to the UN peacekeeping budget. The mandate includes the protection of civilians and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian assistance. Humanitarian actors delivered aid to nearly one million people in the CAR in 2018. As a Permanent Member of the UN Security Council the UK will ensure the protection of peacekeepers and humanitarian actors in CAR remains of paramount importance.
