Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what discussions (a) he, (b) Ministers in his Department and (c) officials in his Department have had with (i) Monitor, (ii) the Care Quality Commission and (iii) NHS England on Southend University Hospital; and if he will make a statement.

My Rt. Hon. Friend the Secretary of State meets Monitor, the Care Quality Commission and NHS England regularly and discusses a wide range of issues. There is no record of any discussions between the Department’s Ministers and officials and these organisations about Southend University Hospital.
