Question to the Department for International Trade:
To ask the Secretary of State for International Trade, what discussions he has had with the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union on the potential effect on prices of unilaterally removing all tariffs on particular goods after the UK leaves the EU.
If the UK leaves the EU without a deal, the UK will be able to set its own independent tariff regime. We will communicate a decision on what is a market sensitive information to stakeholders and the public as soon as possible. This is a very complex policy area, so ministers have examined a range of options for our no deal future tariff regime and carefully considered the evidence available in the interests of UK businesses and consumers.
