Community Rehabilitation Companies: Staff

Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, pursuant to the Answer of 2 February to Question 23959, what contractual commitments are included in contracts with community rehabilitation companies to ensure maintenance of a minimum level of staffing.

The contracts with Community Rehabilitation Companies (CRCs) contain robust provisions requiring CRCs to ensure that its workforce is competent and adequately trained. Contracts with the 21 CRCs have been published and can be found at the following link:

As I said in my response to question 23959, our contract management teams closely monitor and robustly manage providers to make sure they fulfil their contractual commitments to maintain service delivery, reduce reoffending, protect the public and provide value for money to the taxpayer.
