Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment his Department has made of the effect of LED streetlights on public health.

The International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation publishes exposure limit values for public exposure to the optical radiation from LEDs. Further information is available at the following link:

Public Health England assessed a range of street lights and did not identify levels of exposure likely to cause harm to public health. These assessments can be viewed at the following link:
