The following table shows the number of new Deferred Payment Agreements (DPAs) for people aged 65 and over:

Financial Year

New DPAs agreed during the year

Number of Councils with Adult Social Services Responsibilities submitting data

2018-19

3,275

152

2017-18

3,080

151

2016-17

2,845

152

This data on DPAs was first collected in 2015-16, and so we are unable to provide data from before this date. Data from 2015-16 has not been included as the collection was not mandatory at this time, and so data was only provided by 55 CASSRs (Councils with Adult Social Services Responsibilities).

All DPA figures quoted have been rounded to the nearest five as per the NHS Digital publications. The counts of DPAs are based on CASSRs in England only.
