Speech and Language Therapy: Children and Young People

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what plans he has to extend the pathway that Public Health England is developing for children aged 0-5 to children and young people aged 5-25 with speech, language and communication needs.

The Green Paper ‘Advancing our health: prevention in the 2020s’ confirms our intention to modernise the Healthy Child Programme, extending the upper range to 24-year olds for those young adults needing extra support. The Government is now seeking views, including on what more can be done to help local authorities and National Health Service bodies work well together.
