Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the announcement of 17 June 2022 that the UK will start a programme to train Ukrainian troops on British soil, whether his Department now plans to expand this training offer.

We are working with the Armed Forces of Ukraine to provide training that meets their requirements now and into the future. We welcome the support of international partners to deepen and broaden the training programme.

As my right hon. Friend the Defence Secretary said in his statement on 5 July 2022, our ambition is to increase the scale and frequency of these courses, in line with Ukrainian requirements.
