The Government welcomed the Climate Assembly UK report when it was published in September 2020 and has responded to all major areas of the report through the BEIS Select Committee’s Climate Assembly UK inquiry.

The recommendations are an important part of the evidence base for developing the Government’s approach to net zero. Many of the recommendations are already being delivered through the Government’s Net Zero Strategy, which keeps the UK on the path to net zero.
