Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to the recommendations of the Migration Advisory Committee's report entitled Adult social care and immigration, published in April 2022, what discussions she has had with the Chancellor of the Exchequer on the potential merits of the Government introducing a fully funded minimum rate of pay for care workers in England that is above the National Living Wage, where care is being provided through public funds.

We have had no specific discussions and there are no current plans to introduce a rate of pay for care workers above the National Living Wage.
