The Law Commission considered the use of expiry dates on gift vouchers in 2015, as part of their consultation on consumer prepayments in the event of retailer insolvency. In the Law Commission’s final report, published in July 2016, they did not make any recommendations or proposals to change the current position on expiry dates. The Government will publish a response to the report early next year.
