Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how much the NHS has spent on child mental health services in England and Wales in each year since 2010.

The available estimated National Health Service spend on children and young people’s mental health services in England only from 2010 is provided below. Healthcare is a devolved responsibility and the Department is not able to give information on the amount spent by the Welsh Government.

NHS England published the Clinical Commissioning Guidance Improvement and Assessment Framework for Mental Health on 27 October 2016. It includes a specific indicator on children and young people’s mental health that takes in planning, quality assurance and finance and is weighted towards those meeting the mental health investment standard for children and young people.
