We are deeply concerned by reports of extrajudicial executions in Warrap state in South Sudan. The UK will continue to urge the Government of South Sudan to tackle human rights violations and to implement their commitments to address these, including through implementation of the 2018 Peace Agreement. We did this most recently in our statement at the Human Rights Council session on 6 October where we also urged for the continuation of robust monitoring and reporting as part of understanding the scale of the challenge and need for international attention and support. The UK supports the UN Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan's call for the Government of South Sudan to prevent extrajudicial executions and carry out prompt, impartial, and independent investigations of all such acts in Warrap State, so the perpetrators can be held to account.
