Decisions on the size and composition of the workforce including Safer Neighbourhood teams are for the local Chief Constable and the directly accountable Police and Crime Commissioner of each force. It is up to them to decide what the most effective deployment of their resources may be in tackling gang crime and extremist behaviour.
