Question to the Department for International Trade:

To ask the Secretary of State for International Trade, what steps he plans to take to ensure that UK social and labour standards are maintained in any negotiations for a trade deal with the US.

While we are a member of the EU, we cannot negotiate and conclude trade agreements. However we can and have begun to have discussions on our future trading relationships. Any deal will of course take into account the needs of UK consumers, businesses and manufacturers.
