Question to the Department for International Trade:

To ask the Secretary of State for International Trade, what assessment he has made of the potential effect of the draft World Trade Organisation schedules on the cost-efficiency of UK exporters of component parts for the automotive sector should those schedules apply to UK trade with the EU after the UK leaves the EU.

The Prime Minister set out a clear and comprehensive plan for our future relationship with Europe including, as a priority, the pursuit of a bold and ambitious Free Trade Agreement.

We are closely engaged with stakeholders in the automotive and other sectors to understand their interests in the UK’s future trading arrangements with the EU and to ensure the best possible outcome for UK businesses and consumers.
