Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, whether his Department has conducted research on replacing or continuing with the European Health Insurance Card scheme once the UK has left the EU.

Nothing has yet been decided on the future of British citizen medical treatment abroad, including whether to replace or to continue the European Health Insurance Card. Government officials are working on considering the positions and options available to us with the aim of achieving the best outcome for British citizens in the United Kingdom and abroad.
