Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many mental health service out of area placements (OAPs) there were in each region in each year since 2012; what the cost of such OAPs was in each such year and region; and what the average distance was that patients travelled in each such year and region.

The Out of Area Placements (OAPs) collection is expected to capture the details of all OAPs in England from both National Health Service and independent providers. Collection began on 17 October 2016, therefore the information is not held in the format requested.
