As announced at Summer Budget, families will no longer be able to claim additional support through Child Tax Credit for third or subsequent children in a family where the child is born after April 2017.

Children from previous relationships will continue to receive the Child Element in Child Tax Credit if they were born before April 2017 if the new household is eligible for Child Tax Credit.
