Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether the Government has started the pilots for alternative approaches to competency-based recruitment in the civil service as set out in the Government's Civil Service Workforce Plan 2016.

The Civil Service Workforce Plan 2016 - 2020 includes an action to pilot alternative approaches to competency based recruitment and promotion in the Civil Service.

A number of pilots across departments are already underway. Once completed, these approaches will be evaluated for implementation across the Civil Service.
