Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what travel advice her Department offers to UK-Iranian nationals with respect to travel to Iran; and what the Department's rationale is for that advice and any variance by region.

As stated on the relevant webpage https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/iran, the FCDO advise British-Iranian dual nationals against all travel to Iran.

FCDO travel advice states that there is 'a significantly higher risk that British-Iranian dual nationals could be arbitrarily detained or arrested in Iran' and that 'Iran does not recognise dual nationality'. All FCDO travel advice pages remain under constant review to ensure they reflect the latest threat assessment.
